People search for “local operator” and “local operators” and land here expecting cloud infrastructure. That is not what Operator Co builds. But the idea behind the word is exactly what our software does.
A local operator runs on your machine
An operator is software that does work for you. A local operator does that work on your own computer instead of sending it to someone else’s server. Your files never leave your PC. There is no monthly subscription. There is no account to create. You pay once and keep it.
That is the whole idea behind Operator Co. We build focused Windows apps for jobs that are still slow, expensive, or trapped behind recurring rental fees. TagSmith-PDF is our first one: it repairs PDFs to PDF/UA-1 accessibility, validates every file with veraPDF 1.30.2, and drafts picture descriptions with a built-in AI that runs locally on your PC.
Why local matters for documents
If you are processing confidential documents—contracts, invoices, public-sector forms—you do not want them uploaded to a cloud operator just to be tagged or checked. A local desktop app processes everything on your own CPU and drive. The app goes online only when you press Activate (licence key plus an anonymous computer code) or Check for updates. Nothing runs in the background.
One price, not a rental
Cloud operators usually charge monthly. Operator Co does the opposite: TagSmith-PDF is €149 one-time, one licence for one PC. No renewal invoices, no premium features locked behind an enterprise paywall.
If you need software that stays on your machine and treats your documents as private by default, see TagSmith-PDF → or buy it on Gumroad →.
