Operator Co sells Windows desktop apps. We collect the minimum needed to sell and licence them:
- Orders: processed by our payment provider (Gumroad). We receive your email and order record so we can deliver the app and your licence key. We never see or store your payment details.
- Licence activation: when you press Activate, the app sends your licence key and an anonymous computer code (a one-way hash, not your name, files or hardware details) to runoperatorco.com, once. We store that pairing so one licence stays on one computer. After that the app works offline, and your documents and app data never leave your PC. If you press Check for updates (TagSmith), the app reads a small version file; it sends no licence key, computer code or files.
- Launch list: your email only, used to announce launches and major updates. Unsubscribe in one click. We never sell or share it.
- Accounts, reviews and questions (optional): a free account stores the username you choose, an optional email address, and either a hashed password or your Google sign-in identifier (we never see your Google password). Reviews and questions show only a display name you pick, never your email address or real name. To write a review, we ask Gumroad once whether your licence key is valid; the key is not stored, only a one-way fingerprint so one key cannot verify several accounts. You can delete any of your own posts at any time, or write to hello@runoperatorco.com and we will delete your account and everything you posted.
This website loads nothing from third parties: no tracking scripts, no ad networks, no external fonts and no analytics. The only cookies are small first-party ones that keep you signed in if you create an account, and that protect forms from forgery. When you join the launch list or use the contact form, your email address reaches our email provider (Klaviyo) through our own server, and only if you ask it to.
